    Excerpt
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 3 (BFAR 3) conducted the first-ever harvest of mussels in Masinloc, Zambales, marking a significant milestone in the town's aquaculture efforts. The harvest, which took place on 14 March in San Lorenzo, was part of BFAR 3’s National Shellfish Development Program (NSDP) and showcased the success of the Techno-demo project on mussel culture using the 7m x 5m Bamboo Raft Method. This ceremonial harvest was a first for the Paluig-Masinloc Mussel Association (PMMA), which produced 905 kilos of mussels. Through the project, PMMA members received training and support from BFAR 3, enabling them to adopt modern mussel culture techniques and improve their farming practices.
