Twenty-four people were rescued after a motorized boat developed engine trouble as it was sailing in the waters off Romblon on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Coast Guard. The PCG-Romblon said it conducted a rescue operation after receiving reports that the M/B El Carmen's engine malfunctioned. Boat owner Eric Macaya informed the PCG-Romblon that the El Carmen was sailing in the waters off Barangay Lonos in Romblon town when the incident occurred.
