Marine turtle hatchlings released in Boracay

Boracay Island in this province witnessed significant wildlife conservation efforts with the release of marine turtle hatchlings. Personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) in Boracay led by CENR Officer Joanette Opeda led the release of 39 healthy Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) marine turtle hatchlings at the beach area of Movenpick Resort & Spa in Punta Bunga, Barangay Yapak in Malay town last month. The hatchlings were part of a nesting activity monitored since November 4, 2024.
