dc.descriptionTo safeguard public health, Mandaue City has banned the sale, distribution and trade of raw, fresh or processed puffer fish, locally known as butete, due to its deadly toxins. The City Council approved the resolution during its regular session on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, adopting Fisheries Administrative Order (FAO) 249, Series of 2014. Councilor Editha Flores-Cabahug authored the resolution, which seeks to enforce FAO 249 at the local level.en
