A tanker carrying 80, 000 liters of industrial fuel oil sank Wednesday off Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, causing a six-kilometer-long and four-kilometer-wide oil spill. The m/t Princess Empress stalled due to engine trouble and pushed towards the vicinity of Naujan by the rough seas, according to authorities. It then became half-submerged before totally sinking.
