D Chief Dan Baliao and Dr. Rolando Platon started their week-long site suitability assessment in CARAGA Region. This is in view of the agreement between BFAR and SEAFDEC/AQD to establish multi-species hatcheries in fifteen proposed sites. “Site suitability assessment is extremely necessary otherwise, resources in terms of money and efforts will be put to waste,” says the Chief. Other proposed sites to be visited first week next month will still be in Mindanao, among them are Zamboanga del Norte, Lanao del Norte, Sultan Kudarat, Surigao City and Siargao. Bantayan, Cebu will be their last stop.en
