    Excerpt
The Agriculture department on Friday said that it had asked the Supreme Court to reconsider a decision allowing commercial fishing in municipal waters. Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. was said to have made the announcement during a meeting with concerned groups such as Oceana Philippines, Magsasaka Partylist, Federation of Free Farmers, Philippine Movement for Climate Justice and the National Anti-Poverty Commission. It was not immediately clear if the department had filed its own appeal as its attached agency, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, earlier this month said that it had already sought a review of the ruling.
