A rescued adult female Southeast Asian Box Turtle or Sunda Box Turtle was turned over by a local resident to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD). Rogelio Dumaranan said he found the turtle near his home in San Pedro, Puerto Princesa on Dec. 31, 2024. He said he placed the turtle in a bucket with water while waiting to bring it to the PCSD office. The Sunda Box Turtle (Cuora couro) is listed as an endengered species under the PCSD Resolution No. 23-967.
