    Excerpt
Deep-sea explorers located Saturday the wreck of a Japanese ship torpedoed by an American submarine during World War 2. The Montevideo Maru, which was transporting more than 1,000 Australian prisoners when it was sank on 1 July 1942, was found in the South China Sea, northwest of Luzon island in the Philippines, at a depth of more than four kilometers, the maritime archeology group Silentworld Foundation, which organized the search mission, said.
