The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) station in Northern Negros Occidental warned colorum motor banca operators in preparation for the Holy Week and summer season. Colorum motor bancas are dangerous as they do not comply with the safety standards set by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), according to PCG-Northern Negros Occidental station chief, Commander Joe Luviz Mercurio.
