    Excerpt
The City Veterinarian’s Office (CVO) has issued a warning to Dabawenyos against consuming green mussels (tahong) after samples from the Municipality of Villareal, Samar, tested positive for Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP), a life-threatening condition for humans. “Laboratory tests on samples of green mussels, locally known as tahong, from the Municipality of Villareal, Province of Samar. The results indicate that these samples have tested positive for Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP), a serious and potentially life-threatening condition,” the city government wrote in its advisory on September 1, 2024.
