Twenty-three fishermen were rescued off the coast of Sitio Lintub, Barangay Nagbo-alao, Basay, Negros Oriental, on Wednesday, March 20, after their fishing boat caught fire and capsized. L.t. Stephen Polinar, the public information officer for the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office, said that a rescue operation was organized after the police received a request for assistance from 'either one of the passengers or a bystander from the shore."
