The grounding happened on Dec. 30, 2014, according to Philippine Coast Guard chief, Commodore Athelo Ybañez. Big waves and strong winds buffeted the barge "Brian" when tropical depression "Seniang" passed Western Visayas. Ybañez said tugboat "Benny" came to the barge's rescue but "Brian" ran aground, forcing the crew of both vessels to jump into the water. The Coast Guard, which has a nearby station, rescued them with the help of village fishermen.en
