    Guimaras Strait is the body of water that separates the island province of Guimaras and Negros Island. It is a rich fishing ground. Small fishing boats and big commercial fishing vessels benefit from its bountiful marine resources. Ayon sa aming bubuwit, illegal fishing is also rampant at the Guimaras Strait. Aside from dynamite fishing, some fishers use prohibited fishing contraptions such as fine mesh nets that capture even very small fishes that should be allowed to grow first.
