Fisherfolks, youth, environmentalists, and labor advocates held an action protest to call for the declaration of a climate emergency and demand urgent action for a livable planet on Friday, April 21, as part of the Earth Day commemoration on Saturday, April 22. The action protest at Purok Baybayon Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, was participated by community leaders from the Bacolod Fisherfolks Federation who are directly affected by the impacts of climate change, especially due to sea level rise and reclamation projects.
