The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) 7 celebrated Women’s Month in March by highlighting the efforts of empowered women fisherfolk in Borbon, Cebu and Siaton, Negros Oriental. In these communities, women are not limited to traditional roles of picking shellfish or processing and marketing catch, but are also actively participating in hands-on training and construction of set nets for the implementation of the lambaklad project, the BFAR 7 said in a statement posted on its Facebook page on March 24, 2023.
