    Excerpt
Over half of the approved 25,000 metric tons (MT) of imported fish – all galunggong – has arrived ahead of the lifting of the three-month closed fishing season in Palawan, the Bureau of FishSen. eries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) said yesterday. In a statement, BFAR said it recorded the arrival of 13,856.64 MT of imported galunggong or round scad since November. These importations augment “the market demand for galunggong, which supply is expected to be limited due to the annual implementation of the galunggong closed fishing season in the northeast of Palawan,” BFAR said.
