Members of the local Bantay Dagat here released a Fraser’s dolphin to the open sea after it beached on the shore of Barangay Libsong East here on Friday. The dolphin, which is about one meter long, was first seen swimming at about 7 a.m. by a Bantay Dagat member about 50 meters from the shoreline. “Pagkatapos noon, gumilid na siya (After that, it beached),” said Rodolfo Altre of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources regional office. Altre said he immediately assessed the dolphin’s situation upon his arrival in the area before letting it go back to the sea.en
