    Excerpt
Since implementing the three-month closed fishing season in 2012, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Davao Region (BFAR-Davao) noted an improvement in the catch trend and fish spawns in Davao Gulf. In the data provided by BFAR-Davao on September 5, the catch trend grew to 5,594 metric tons (MT) in 2021 from 3,634 MT in 2012. This is the highest volume of fish caught since the implementation of the closed fishing season.
