In an effort to boost fisheries production in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley), the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in the region and the local government unit of Allacapan in Cagayan province is promoting the use of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in building fish cages. The HDPE fish cages are in- stalled in Barangay Silagan’s Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP).
