The Department of Justice (DoJ) said compensation claims in connection with the Mindoro oil spill must be filed within three years, otherwise it will exceed the prescription period. Beyond the prescription period, a party can no longer avail of legal remedies to pursue a case. “We should file claims by then, otherwise, there is what is called a prescription of claims,” said DoJ Undersecretary Raul Vasquez on Saturday, August 19.
