The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has banned the consumption and sale of shellfish in at least 10 areas in the country because of the presence of red tide toxins.The shellfish ban covers Roxas City, Sapian Bay, Panay, President Roxas and Pilar in Capiz; Dumanquillas Bay in Zamboanga del Sur; Milagros, Masbate; Matarinao in Eastern Samar; Dauis and Tagbilaran City in Bohol; and Lianga Bay in Surigao del Sur.
