At least 500 corn farmers and fisherfolk here benefited from a PHP3,000 fuel subsidy extended by the Department of Agriculture in Davao Region. The DA-11 said that farmers and fisherfolk received the subsidy during Thursday’s caravan at the Davao Food Terminal Complex in Toril with the aim to “increase and enhance” the beneficiaries’ productivity and income and mitigate the effects of oil price hikes. DA-11 director Abel James Monteagudo previously said the fuel discount card will help ease the impact of rising oil prices in the agricultural sector.en
