An increase in eel production in Cagayan Valley (Region 2) could allow the region to export more of the fish to the world market and increase supply in the domestic market. According to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)- Region 2 (Cagayan Valley), there are five eel species in Cagayan Valley and efforts to conserve natural eel stocks to assure the continuous harvest of the fish.
