DA vows to boost fish production

The Department of Agriculture (DA) said that the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) will continue to provide production and production-related interventions and activities that will contribute to the government's food security goal amid the ill effects of Covid-19 pandemic and natural calamities. "We will exert strong efforts to ensure that quality fish and fishery products are made available, accessible and affordable to the consuming public; and provide economic opportunities to fisherfolk and their families for additional and stable income," Agriculture Secretary William Dar said in a statement on Friday.
