    Excerpt
President Duterte said in a rare rebuke to Beijing on Tuesday that China's claim to airspace above newly built islands and surrounding waters in the disputed South China Sea was wrong and the Chinese should not tell others to leave those areas to avoid possible clashes. In a speech to an audience that Included the American ambassador and other foreign guest Mr. Duterte said he hoped China would "temper" its behavior in the South China Sea and stop restricting movements, which could lead to a confrontation, possibly with treaty ally the United States.
