    Excerpt
South Korea on Monday urged Japan to explain a plan to dispose of the nuclear polluted water from the 2011 Fukushima nuclear power plant meltdown amid the growing worry here about Japan's possible discharge of contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean. Kwon Se-jung, the director general of South Korea's foreign ministry in charge of environmental affairs, summoned Tomofumi Nishinaga, a diplomat for economic affairs from the Japanese embassy in Seoul, to deliver the note verbale, a diplomatic document requesting that japan explain claims on its discharge plan of the radioactive water.
