Fishing in the Davao Gulf has been declared closed starting this month until August to allow fish to spawn in the area. Davao Gulf, which spans 3,087 kilometers, covers the Cape San Agustin in Governor Generoso town in Davao Oriental to the coastal towns in Davao Occidental, particularly in Talagotong Point in the municipality of Don Marcelino. The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in the region said this is the second year that the Gulf has been closed for fishing.
