Soldiers rescued seven passengers of a boat that capsized in the waters off Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Monday night. Reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo yesterday showed that troops from the 2nd Marine Brigade under Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi were in a boat on their way to pick up members of the Board of Election Inspectors and vote counting machines at the Lato-Lato Elementary School when the crew noticed distress light signals in the vicinity of Barangay Lato-Lato. The troops discovered a capsized boat and rescued the seven passengers clinging to it. Authorities said the victims could have cast their vote in another town. They were brought to the headquarters of the 82nd Marine Corps for a medical checkup.en
