Tropical Storm “Agaton” that ravaged southern Philippines last month significantly reduced the delivery of fish products in regional fish ports. According to the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority’s (PFDA) Modified Integrated Corporate Reporting System, total fish unloading volume or the volume of fish shipped to various ports stood at 46,353.97 metric tons (MT) last April, down by 22.73 percent from 59,988.98 MT in March. “Agaton has severely affected the agriculture and fisheries sector in the country, but the agency continues to deliver an adequate supply of fish through all its RFPs nationwide,” the PFDA said.en
