Diana Moraleda, San Pedro Telmo Parish coordinator, said it was the first time that a protest of this "magnitude" was organized in the town with fisherfolk and other groups joining from neighboring towns of Gattaran, Ballesteros, Buguey, Gonzaga and Santa Ana. At the prayer rally in San Pedro Telmo Parish Church, Moraleda said fisherfolk shared the ill effects of the alleged mining operations on their livelihood and the environment.en
