Phl to join world's largest maritime drill

The Philippines and 25 other nations will participate in the world’s largest international maritime exercise hosted by the United States – the biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), scheduled June 29 to Aug. 4, in and around the Hawaiian islands and Southern California, the US Navy announced. Twenty-six nations, 38 surface ships, four submarines, nine national land forces, more than 170 aircraft and approximately 25,000 personnel will participate in RIMPAC 2022, the 28th exercise in the series that began in 1971. This year’s exercise includes forces from Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Republic of Korea, Republic of the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tonga, the United Kingdom and the United States.
