    Excerpt
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday announced that the Philippines won a seat in the Asia-Pacific Group (APG) of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS). A social media post by the Philippine Mission to the United Nations said the elections were held during the 32nd Meeting of the State Parties to the United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) in New York City. The Philippines ran against eight other candidates from the Asia-Pacific Group. It won the requisite majority votes with 113 votes, but only after four rounds of voting by the 164 states represented during a UN General Assembly meeting yesterday.
