local.descriptionThe Sarangani provincial government, the Mindanao State University (MSU)-General Santos City campus, and the Los Baños-based Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) recently signed a memorandum of agreement to restore the reef. A team of coral restoration experts from PCAARRD visited recently the Sarangani town of Kiamba to assess the reef, among other identified sites in the area. PCAARRD is the government council mandated to formulate policies, plans, and programs for science and technology-based research and development in the different sectors under its concern.en
