    Excerpt
The ocean is essential to the Earth. Covering a vast majority of the planet and being mostly unexplored, it is home to diverse ecosystems and brings us clean air, moderate temperatures, food, transportation and even jobs! Without our oceans, we would be unable to thrive, for its waters support sea and land life. But it seems we are slowly losing them. Our oceans are getting polluted mainly because of human activity. Waste from land gets carried into the waters, damaging marine life and affecting the ecosystems. While this may seem like nothing to us, the damage we do to the oceans will still affect us because many of our needs come from them. In addition, as we pollute the oceans, we, in turn, dirty up the land. This should give us further reason to save our oceans.
