The race among local big business to prospect for gas and oil in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) has been rebooted with the recent decision of the government to terminate all talks with China on joint development. PXP Energy Corp., the upstream oil and gas company of businessman Manuel V. Pangalinan said it would need government protection once it resumes oil and gas exploration in WPS.
