    Excerpt
NEARING the six-year mark on July 12 of the 2016 Permanent Court of Arbitration Ruling in favor of the Philippines against China's claim on the West Philippine Sea based on the nine-dash line, think tank Stratbase ADR Institute urged the government to uphold the ruling. Stratbase ADR Institute President Prof. Victor Andres "Dindo" Manhit said that government leaders should step up in unified action to defend the West Philippine Sea, and assure Filipinos that the government puts its people first. "We must not allow China's blatant disregard of the Unclos (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea). The Filipino people deserve a government that prioritizes the security and welfare of its citizens before others," he added.
