Filipino farmers continue to shy away from the rich-fish farming mode of production despite the availability of technology for the system since the mid-1970s. Less than lukewarm response of the farmers on the rice-fish culture method has been traced from inadequate returns for the labor and expenses put in the system, explains the Philippine Council for Aquatic and Marine Research Development which operates under the Department of Science nad Technology.
