    Excerpt
Conservationists beware. The scrap tire artificial reefs you place in the seabeds can bring more ecological problems than help poor fisherfolk. Flor Lacanilao, chief of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) aquaculture department in Tigbauan town, Iloilo said the government should abandon its scrap tire artificial reefs program and shift to reefs made of concrete in its efforts to rehabilitate the country's marine resources.
