In the aftermath of the Mount Pinatubo eruptions and the subsequent mudflows, lately spawned by the heavy continuous rains, tents have become a much needed commodity. Thousands of affected families had to flee their villages, either submerged in thick ash debris or lahar, and seek shelter in evacuation centers or in so-called "tent cities" where they put up makeshift shelters. Damayan failed to mention in yesterday's report that the committee on relief operations of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) which turned over a P19,508.05 donation is also composed of members Bienvenida Benedicto, Corazon Cendana, Ma. Teresa de Castro, Nelda Ebron, Natividad Millar, Alejandro Santiago and Teresita Tenerife. The committee head is V.T. Sulit.
