local.seafdecaqd.extractCommercial fishing in the Davao Gulf is suspended for the next thress months starting June 1 after the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) implemented a closed season for the second year running to allow fish stocks to recover. The closed season is based on a joint administrative order by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Interior and Local Government issued on May 15 last year. Violators, whose catch will be forfeited and their fishing license cancelled, will pay a fine of P6,000 and face imprisonment from six months and one day to a maximum of six years.en
