The continuous unrest of Taal Volcano in Batangas has affected the annual migration of birds passing through the province, according to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). The DENR in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) region reported on Thursday there were fewer birds seen roosting in San Nicolas town when compared to the number observed in the municipality before Taal Volcano erupted in January last year. “The group is attributing the decrease in the number of migratory birds observed currently due to the eruption,” the report said.en
