    Excerpt
Diapitan Resources Development Corp. cut 14 hectares of mangroves to build its shrimp ponds, aerial photographs confirmed. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, however, has not looked into the violation although there are laws that ban mangrove cutting. The DENR is not serious in dealing with the pollution issue, according to complaining residents of Barangay Masagana and Maligaya here.
