    Excerpt
Coastal communities of Panay Gulf were urged to keep kapis shells breeders undisturbed for two years. And this can only be done if the breeding sites will be declared off season for kapis shells until mid 2001. Jocelyn Ladja, researcher of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), called for this following the apparent increase in number of kapis shells larvae and juveniles along Panay Gulf after seeding of breeders and juveniles last year.
