Tubungan is the newest addition to the list of beneficiaries of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) technologies particularly tilapia culture is small freshwater reservoir (SFR). The town, although located in landlocked area, is endowed with a couple of springs where the owners put up SFRs to raise freshwater species like tilapia and catfish.
