Prior to 1986, the Mindanao State University group took charge of the SEAFDEC management, which includes research, training and information dissemination. Due to EDSA revolution, the SEAFDEC was taken over by the University of the Philippines group. Hence, the MSU people were dismissed with cause, hence not entitled to benefits.
