After several weeks, the supply and price galunggong (round scad) have now stabilized, the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) said. In a statement, the DA-BFAR attributed the latest development to the increase in fish unloaded at the Navotas Fish Port Complex, which the largest fish port in Southeast Asia, as well as the lifting of the three-month closed fishing seasons in the country’s major fishing grounds. To date, galunggong is sold for P180 per kilo from the previous price range of P260 to P280 per kilo, based on the daily market price monitoring conducted by the DA-BFAR in Metro Manila markets.en
