Sangguniang Panlalawigan officials are optimistic that compromise would settle the existing animosity between Guimbal mayor, Richard Garin and South East Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) chief Dr. Rolando Platon. Board members Eric Barbosa and Romeo Palmares believe that there is a probability that the "water extraction" issue will be settled after Garin Platon, together with their respective lawyers had a 'cordial' meeting yesterday morning inside Palmares' office.
