Despite a clear warning from the municipal government of Guimbal, the South East Asian Fisheries Development Council - Aquaculture Department based in Tigbauan town has continued to draw water from the Guimbal River to stop doing so by May 19. Reports say the international research facility has completely ignored the warning even though it admitted to have violated certain provisions of a Memorandum of Agreement that was forged way back in 1978 between Seafdec and the Municipal Government of Guimbal.
