    The San Julian irrigation dam in Tapaz town has been chosen as a demonstration center for technologies on cage culture of tilapia and other freshwater fish under a project to be undertaken by three government and nongovernment entities. Involved in the project are the Central Panay Economic Unification, Inc. (CPEU), the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR), and the Tigbauan, Iloilo-based Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD).
